The splendid iconographic apparatus is enhanced by the quality of the printing and the exceptional format (32 x 42 cm): set photographs, costume sketches, set designs, autographed letters and scores, portraits, and historical documents. Many of these images, in addition to those from the aforementioned Pesaro institutions and the Ricordi Archive, come from Sergio Ragni’s extraordinary private collection, the subject of a special photographic campaign by Alfredo dagli Orti. Of particular note are the more than 30 plates printed separately and applied by hand to maximize the most important images and documents.
